The Long Walk Home — Finding My Place in Nature

Join us for an artist reception celebrating The Long Walk Home, a solo exhibition of 38 landscape and wildlife photographs by Jerry Flynn at the Tulpehaking Nature Center, on Saturday, Nov 14th from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM.

These photographs are less a record of places visited than notes from a personal journey: moments of solitude, surprise, and connection gathered along the way. Each image reflects an effort to slow down, look more closely, and understand his place within the larger community of living things. Some of that journey began just outside the Tulpehaking Nature Center, in the Abbott Marshlands.

The exhibition runs Saturday, November 14, 2026, through January 2, 2027. Come meet the artist and see the work. Free and open to the public.

MEET THE PRESENTER

Jerry Flynn

Jerry Flynn is a nature and wildlife photographer whose work explores the connection between people, wildlife, and the landscapes we share. Based in Pennsylvania, he photographs throughout the Mid-Atlantic and beyond, with a particular connection to New Jersey’s Abbott Marshlands. His work has been exhibited in regional galleries and recognized in juried photography exhibitions. Jerry organizes the Abbott Marshlands Photography Club, where he promotes thoughtful, ethical nature photography and the idea that photography can inspire a deeper appreciation and stewardship of the natural world.
